Comments
Did two runs on the lower sparsely-treed slopes on the south side shoulder of Joes Garage, in the Pallisglades and Market Gully area, as well as one short alpine run in Market Bowl.
Snow was heavily wind affected, but good soft snow could be found in sheltered areas and catchment features, with hard wind-pack between. Better overall below treeline.
Snowing hard all day, and strong winds were also moving a lot of snow around as well. The snow was getting heavy and damp in the afternoon.
Fresh wind-slabs and cornice hazard will be on my mind the next few days, as well as how the new snow is bonding to the old surface.
