Comments

Skiing was good enough on Ramp yesterday I came back today for Mosquito. -19 in the parking lot with a slight inversion in the morning. Sunny all day with a few clouds and light W wind. Mosquito was a bit more wind affected than Ramp (perhaps the former sheltered the latter from the SW winds?). Some very hard wind slabs near the ridgeline but powder was had a bit below it. Some bony sections. W facing treed slopes skied beautifully again. Noted one decent avalanche (Size 2?) that took out most of a hanging alpine bowl on the NE corner of Noseeum Mt, going to near ground. Looked perhaps a couple days old but was hard to tell in the shade. A small fresh slide (cornice failure?) was seen on the ridge S of Watermelon Peak. No other signs of instability noted on our outing.
