Comments
Toured up to Mongolia. At top snow seemed light so decided to descend into Mongolia - whoops! Sun affected warm snow was primed for wet loose slides. Snow cutting set off a class I wet loose avalanche, basically the layer of new snow slid on the refrozen spring crust from last week (sorry didn’t stick around long enough to take a photo.). Slides noted out in the open (see photo). Most of the snow is sun/wind affected on any south facing slopes.
