Comments
A beauty day at the pass with supportive travel conditions and unlimited visibility. The temps stayed on the cold side today with -8c in the alpine, clear skies and a light north wind. The snow stayed frozen down to highway elevation.
With the cold temps, conditions felt locked in with supportive travel. We felt comfy traveling on steeper alpine slopes. Though there’s evidence of natural avalanche activity and cornice failure from last weekends warm temps, we didn’t see any new avalanche activity today. South facing solar aspects were just beginning to soften in the late afternoon.
The riding was better than expected given the warm weather event we’ve had.
