Comments
The day was super clear and cold, we skinned from the lodge to the alpine where we found very wind affected snow. I probed at 1600m and found HS to be 140cm. Dug a pit at same elevation on the eastern aspect. The snow was quite consolidated and the surface snow was producing some facets, but not as large as expected for the temperature and the time since the last snow fall. We skied a 30 degree slope where it was protected from the wind. Very low coverage in the alpine in areas, lots of rocks and areas are not very filled in. Rough skiing right now in the area. The upcoming storm should do wonders for the area.
