Comments
Good quality riding and nice temps made for an enjoyable Saturday at Crystal Ridge. Lots of backcountry users (skiers, splitboarders, and snowshoers) out with 18 vehicles at the Crowfoot Glacier Lookout at 10am. On our last run we came to a steeper pitch through a cutblock (~2100m) and decided to ski cut it. The slope above fractured and sloughed into the ski track in blocks(see photo). Definitely potential for avalanches, even at/below treeline.
