Santa gifted us with a great sunny and warm day (-10C thanks to the inversion) at the 2 Sisters. Since it was our first backcountry day of the season, we took it easy and stayed away from complex terrain. Every aspect has been heavily affected by the wind and it was challenging to get great snow. We chose East and dug a snow pit revealing 3m of snow which had a good cohesion, most of it with a hardness of 1 finger. 2 layers of interest were found: 2.4m and 2.8m. They both collapsed on CTH (compression test hard, with whole arm) without sliding. There was no other sign of snow instability recorded during travel or riding.
