Comments
Snow profile at 1950m NW aspect. Total snow depth 110cm with 30cm new snow over facets to ground. Easy compression test (6 taps wrist) going sudden collapse on preserved surface hoar layer. Found the remnants of the Dec layer (?) down 80cm but non-reactive. Wumphing and shooting cracks on kick turns. Ski pen varied from 20cm to nearly ground. Okay skiing on simple slopes if you can stay afloat. Think light thoughts.
