Comments
Not great snow conditions, but fun day to walk up a rocky ridge and rappel into a north facing couloir (35m). Very large cornices kept us traversing far away from slide paths.
Highlights weren’t in the riding conditions, however on south facing slopes we did observe: two white-tailed ptarmigans, a spruce grouse, a hairy woodpecker, countless lynx tracks, and fresh grizzly bear tracks. We didn’t have bear spray in the group, and changed drainages to ascend upon observation of the Grizzly tracks.
