Comments
Riders were travelling across the ridge top giving lots of room to possible cornices, when one of the group crashed into a crack with their snowmobile. The crack was not at all visible to the rider as it was completely snow covered and came to a surprise as he flipped over the bars when the snowmobile stopped abruptly in the hole. The riders managed to remove the snowmobile and leave the area safely. The incident did not cause the cornice to drop but possibly shows it has started to fail and could drop at some point. The cornice in question is the west facing one on the ridge across from rolling hills cabin. ***Have some great images to submit but the mobile version is not allowing me to do so :(
