Comments

AST1 Group doing their field day in the Rossland Range. Height of snow = 60-120cm. Weak snowpack overall (see test results under snowpack tab). 3 whumpfs in separate locations within the Treeline elevation on South and West aspects. Seemed more like Considerable Danger than the Moderate as reported for the entire Kootenay Boundary Region. Part of what is keeping the area from seeing more avalanche activity is that much of the terrain is barely above threshold for producing avalanches. It will be interesting to see how the snowpack reacts if we get a big load on it.
