Comments

Spent 2 days ski touring around Tunnel Creek and McDermid Creek. Freezing level was around 1700m. There is a rain crust upto 2000m. Depth of rain crust was variable from 1.5cm in one bowl to 0.5cm in another. The variability of this layer will be something to watch out for as it gets buried. Very coastal looking snowpack at 1700m that gets heavy and wet as your dig down.

Temperature was -1 C at 1700m at 7:30 this morning. Crust layer is slowly getting buried with the new snow, improving ski conditions. Some folks may still find ski crampons helpful on steeper slopes where the crust is only 10-15cm down.

Sunny and cloudy on Saturday. Foggy with precip on Sunday
