Comments
Followed typical route to top of Strachan. Observed lots of surface cracking, but no propagating cracks. Test slopes and small S facing convexities were surprisingly un reactive to kicks and cuts. N slope above Xmas gully was also surprisingly un reactive. Observed growing cornices on ridge tops with the moderate blowing snow. Loose dry followed skiers through Xmas gully choke. Gully needs 20 more cm to cover old debris. Additional load beyond the 10-20 HST observed at time of obs will likely completely change the story; slabbing and reactivity.
