Comments

Conditions were very deep. Ski pen ~50cm. We performed a rutschblock test at 2200m on a NE aspect. Dug down to 2m, and did not find evidence of the weak layer. No evidence of any planar layer or shear. The snowpack was right side up, with minor wind consolidation on the top. Both the NE and true N aspects we skied held excellent dry snow. There was evidence of naturals from alpine start zones, but the debris was buried, so they likely went off during the storm on Jan 3.
