Comments
We had a great day working our way towards Elk Mountain. There was about 20 cm of snow at 400 m up the Elk logging road and somewhere near 2 to 2.5 m around treeline. The snow conditions were 10 to 20 cm of low density powder over a supportive melt-freeze crust. This allowed for soft and fun travel. We found surface hose growth on the surface to about 5 mm in the cut blocks. There was some wind effect on the ridge where there were no trees.
