Comments
We crossed the frigid creek to go up to Zola Bowl. Bottom half of the approach was too crusty/icy to skin, so we ended up hiking most of the way up (the melt-freeze crust made for great walking conditions). About halfway up the snow started to soften, and the treeline/alpine held sweet powder with a layer of surface hoar. Some very small sluffing on the surface, and deep tree wells to look out for on the way down.
