Comments
Recent Cornice Debri observed on well travelled traverse across a slope that has a history of performing. Cornice failure at 1600m. We skied 1500m to 1200. Rain crust and old debri widespread at 1200 and lower. Debri @ Fork at Ledge and approach to stadium Glacier. Suspect greenhouse warming caused the failure. Previous day was seasonal temps and powder skiing. The 28th brought rapid warming with brief sunny breaks.. Thin cloud for most of the day. Snow was saturated on South and West aspects. Decent skiing on North facing lines to rain crust elevations. Zero Vis in the alpine. Schmoo trains of saturated snow on exit gulley. Avoided terrain trap features.
Skiing was decent on North facing 1400m...
