Comments
Rode a valley bottom and prayer flags today. Hoar frost on surface on all aspects we rode, ie NW, and at treeline and in trees. Also, crust just underneath hoar frost layer. Maybe 0.5 to 1.5 cm thick. Temps on sun +2 and -2 in shade. Riding was good where untracked.
Did quick column test at top of Prayer flags on N aspect on 31 deg slope. Total Snow depth was 270 cm. Column was 60 cm from surface. No results. Except for thin crust up top, snow got dense with depth.
