Bomb Cyclone Lingers Offshore

  • Bomb cyclone continues to rotate off the west coast of Vancouver Island bringing extreme winds and heavy snow especially to the southwestern BC ranges.
  • An arctic ridge is pushing into northern BC intensifying the pressure gradient over the interior creating strong winds and cold temperatures for the northern half of the province.
  • By tonight the bomb cyclone will begin to weaken and shift further to the west. Snowfall will continue for many of the southern ranges.
  • Thursday the drying trend continues across the province and winds continue to weaken.
  • Thursday night and into Friday a new low pressure system shifts into southern BC bringing rising freezing levels, strong winds, and snow.
