Heavy snow and extreme southeast winds continue for the South Coast and Vancouver Island ranges. Gusts near 110 km likely. 

Snow and strong winds for the northern part of the Coast mountain ranges.

Strong outflow winds for the northern coastal inlets.

The heavy snow and extreme winds will begin to dissipate for southwest BC by this evening as the low begins to churn off to the northwest.

Arctic ridge building over northern BC. Very cold temperatures and strong northeasterly winds for the northern BC interior including the North Rockies ranges and Northwestern ranges.

Snow for the interior ranges today. Periods of heavy snow developing this morning for the southern Monashees and Selkirks.

Extreme southeast winds for some of the southern/central BC interior ranges this morning including the Cariboos, Columbias, Monashees, and Cascades. 

A mix of sun and cloud with isolated flurries. Strong northeast outflow winds.

Forecast for tonight - 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. PST

The heavy snow and extreme southeast winds will begin to diminish this evening for the southwest BC ranges as the low pushes further off to the northwest. For the Vancouver Island ranges, northern section, significant snow will continue into Thursday.

The snow and strong winds for the northern part of the Coast mountain ranges will also diminish overnight tonight.

Strong outflow winds will persist for the central and northern BC coastal inlets but also weaken overnight.

The arctic ridge will continue to build over northern BC. Very cold temperatures and strong northeasterly winds for the northern BC interior including the northern Rockies ranges and Northwestern ranges.

Few flurries continue for the northern BC interior ranges. 

The extreme southeast winds for the southern interior ranges will also weaken overnight tonight. However, periods of heavy snow will continue for southern portions of the Monashees, Selkirks, and southwestern sections of the Purcells.

The heavy snow will finally diminish for the northern portions of the Vancouver Island ranges by Thursday afternoon.

The rest of the Coast Mountain ranges will be mainly dry today with a few flurries possible in the morning. 

The coastal mountain ranges will see fairly light winds today. Gusty outflow winds will persist for the central and northern BC coastal inlets 

Winds will will be fairly light across the BC interior today.

The arctic ridge will continue to persist over northern BC. Very cold temperatures and clearing conditions today for the northern Rocky Mountains and Northwestern interior ranges. 

Many cloudy conditions for the central BC interior ranges and cold temperatures as the ridge moves further south.

The southeastern BC interior ranges will continue to see periods of snow today. The heavy snow will diminish to light to moderate by this morning.

Mainly sunny. Strong northeast outflow winds. 

Thursday night through Friday, another low pressure system begins to infiltrate into southern BC. 

This system will bring snow, rising freezing levels, and strong winds to the southern BC ranges. Extreme winds likely for the South Coast and Vancouver Island ranges. 

The central BC ranges will also receive snow from this system. An arctic ridge persists over extreme northern BC though flurries are possible Friday into Saturday morning. 

Saturday, the low pressure system remains just west of Vancouver Island and battles with the encroaching arctic ridge of high pressure. Strong winds, and moderate snow persists over the south coast ranges. Flurries for the other ranges except dry for the northwestern ranges. 

Extremely cold this weekend for central to northern BC.

Strengthening ridge will bring clearing skies and drier conditions.

Mainly cloudy with isolated flurries on Friday. Mainly sunny on Saturday.

Bomb Cyclone Lingers Offshore

Bomb cyclone continues to rotate off the west coast of Vancouver Island bringing extreme winds and heavy snow especially to the southwestern BC ranges. 

An arctic ridge is pushing into northern BC intensifying the pressure gradient over the interior creating strong winds and cold temperatures for the northern half of the province.  

By tonight the bomb cyclone will begin to weaken and shift further to the west. Snowfall will continue for many of the southern ranges. 

Thursday the drying trend continues across the province and winds continue to weaken.

Thursday night and into Friday a new low pressure system shifts into southern BC bringing rising freezing levels, strong winds, and snow.
