Avalanche Canada field techs and forecasters will mentor sledders interested in professional avalanche training.
Avalanche Canada has launched a pilot project to provide mentorship for emerging sled practitioners interested in professional level avalanche training.
The project recognizes the challenges sledders face when it comes to accessing mentorship opportunities similar to the ones available to their skiing counterparts.

Mentees will be able to learn professional avalanche skills from Avalanche Canada field technicians and forecasters, such as snowpack and weather data collection, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation.
Opportunities are available in the Lizard Range/Flathead, South Rockies, and North Rockies forecast regions.
