Early morning lap up elliot ck. A very large crown was visible from 7km away on the north face of the North peak of hbm @~2350m. At that distance it must have been well over 1m depth about 250m wide. Glacial ice visible in part of the lower start zone bed . Hard to know age but certainly during /since the last storm cycle. Likely receiving load over ridge top from Sw winds. No observed natural crowns in elliot Basin but some debris visible in defined avalanche tracks. Alpine classic conditions: wind hammered variable scoured or loaded hard slabs.
