Comments
Skinning across a wind hardened 30 degree slope around to Mammoth Head. I saw another skier below an opening in the trees so I waited for them to cross. Once they were clear I started to skin across. On my fourth step the slope gave away. With trees below I made a quick turn out of the path getting caught in the right side of the avalanche and thankfully missing the trees at the bottom of the path. Right leg was buried but shimmied it out, no injury. We travelled carefully back up to lost boys pass. On the skin out I noticed other areas with sensitive snow pack (wind slab). Another party shared they saw shooting cracks off Siberia. Be careful.
