Comments
-25 C and moderate to strong east and northeast winds made for some extremely cold riding and a short day at Microwave today. There was widespread wind effect in any exposed terrain with lots of deep drifts that were still soft powder snow. You could see plumes of snow blowing off every surrounding peak in the area. Expect to find newly formed windslabs in any alpine or treeline lee terrain. With the wind blowing right down in the valley bottom, we suspect you may find windslabs in open terrain below treeline too.
