Comments
We skied a mellow run from the saddle of Cornice Ridge and Buzz's ridge, keeping in the trees most of the way down. Came upon a plateau that ended in a steep rollover. Skier 1 cut across the top of the slope aiming for a low angled section to ski down. Skier 2 waited on the plateau and heard a whoompf. About 5 m from where skier 1 cut across a slide was triggered that extended roughly 15 m across the steepest section of the slope. The slope was being wind loaded, and failed on a crust buried roughly 15-20 cm below.
