Comments
Today we rode at the Dome and the Onion. We were surprised to find that strong north east winds had created large drifts below tree line. As we rode to higher elevations, we began to notice that fresh windslabs had formed from the recent moderate to strong north east winds. We traveled further and came across a size 2 avalanche that we believe was caused but the recent rapid wind loading.
During testing we had very easy propagating results in an extend column test and very easy results in a compression test down 20cm on surface hoar size 7-10mm
