Comments
The sun was cooking things at Groundhog today! The high temperatures, strong sun and a weak overnight freeze quickly softened the snowpack. It didn’t take long before loose wet avalanches and huge rollerballs were easy to start on solar aspects. By noon temperatures were nearing 15°C and even shadier slopes were getting wet. With the snow so warm we decided not to drop into the north facing bowl we had originally planned, but enjoyed some T shirt riding and soaked up the sun instead. A great day for sunscreen!
