Comments
Our first field day this season felt similar to the way last season ended - not bad for early December! The weather was warm and the entire snowpack was moist at Elk Mountain. We were able to stage just past the 3km marker on the Elk Mountain Main. Sliding on snow was possible from this point. As we ascended higher the snow became heavier and the air temperature rose. Evidence of previous pin wheeling and tree bombs was very apparent. As well many new downed trees. Skiing was moist and heavy but some good turns were had.
