Comments
Deep trail breaking on Grizzly shoulder today after WRA got reopened today. Hand shear at 1900m moderate uneven break down 60cm with the top 25-30 cm of low density snow and a slab below that. Our first lap was in the narrow gully skiers left of the Rogers Run. Triggered multiple size 1 soft slabs on steep unsupported features (pillows and convexities on the sides of the gully). Size 1.5 at 1500m had significant propagation initiating on a steep pillow roll and across the gully. We stayed on a mellow shoulder after that. All slides were about 60cm deep on Dec 26 SH layer. Seems to be more reactive at lower elevations. Went back up for the Puff Daddy run (the skiers right gully). Noted a bit denser snow on the traverse into the line. Again popped a few size 1 on pillows and convex rolls on the same layer. Noticed debry in the lower part of the gully with about 10cms on top.
