Comments
Beautiful day on Mt McConell North glacier. The river crossing was not deep. The East slopes below the glacier on the approach have seen various loose wet/ wet slab avalanches to size 2.5 but there is a lot to come down still into the fan. Couldn’t hit ice with probing on the glacier in numerous spots.
Nice skiing overall with some wind effect up high. Noted some other fresh slides (size 2-2.5) on the NE aspect off the summit in steep terrain. Corn on some solar slopes in the early afternoon. We didn’t dig but stuck to low angle slopes to avoid making decisions around potential surface hoar.
