Comments
Mashed potatoes to as high as we dared go (1950m) today in the north rockies region. Light rain to 1750m most of the day. Above that S1 with mod to strong SW winds in the upper zones arguably gusting stronger. Singnificant drifting.
1 x sz 2.5 loose wet seen on the access trail which seemed to fail mid path 1800m + and run out to near the access road. 24-48hrs old
1 x Natural windslab on steep rocky Ne asp sz2. doggy photo due to cloud.
Wet surface snow and a thin rain crust to 1900m. We tried to avoid any alpine slopes due to warm temps and strong winds. Very warm stormy conditions.
Quick test profile at 1850. Sheltered lower treeline. 270cm snowpack. Mid feb pwl -65cm producing hard CT results on small facets. Late Jan pwl not seen.
Windslab developing in all open treeline and alp with strong winds and significant transport.
Wet, warm, stormy, mooshy and spooky feeling.
Ride safe friends.
