Comments
Kicked off a small cornice to the slope below and caused a 1.5 sized avalanche that we were not expecting given the low danger rating. Repeated this on 3 other cornices on the slope where only the more open areas were reactive.
We didn’t inspect the snowpack much further as we chose to drastically change our plans for the stay and build a jump on a more mellow protected slope.
We did later ride some steeper tree’d slopes on a similar aspect and elevation and had no reactivity.
