Comments
Warm and wet day at the Farm. Around 0-2 degrees all day, mix of rain and wet snow. Saw several small (size 0.5) natural slides on steep slopes throughout the trees. Hand shear test pulled off a slab of the new storm snow with almost no effort. Dug a pit and compression test failed on the first tap from the wrist (non-planar break). The storm snow slid on a crust layer about 30cm down, but no obvious faceting/surface hoar around this crust layer. We kept to mellow slopes in the trees.
