Comments
Avalanche contractor flew the South Klondike Highway corridor today assessing av.hazard for the highway crews below.
* We observed widespread avalanches on all aspects from 1800m and below.
*Many large glide cracks remain on slopes after the warm temps and rain
*Average snow depth from Fraser to Ak border is 150cms. Snow is moist for at least the top meter.
-With 12 avalanches on the highway and 1.5-2meters of snow on the south end of the highway it is unlikely to open until after the weekend.
