Comments
Wumpfing and shooting cracks were witnessed on the top of the ridge as we ascended. We were planning on skiing out our uptrack but ended up attempting to ski cut a low angle run on an north east aspect off the lower part of the shoulder above treeline. The slope ripped to size 3 above the skier in their "safe zone" after the ski cut. The avalanche carried them ~300m to a partial burial. The crown of the avalnche tapered towards dolomite peak along the crest of the ridge and was approximately 150m in length and 1m high at its peak. The bed surface was facets and rock. Heard 2 settlements as we snuck out.
