Comments
Spicier conditions than expected at the top of silver king ridge north into acidophilus. Stomped a couple of convex rolls and was able to initiate a size 1 slab avalanche in a steeper but still well treed start zone. 20+ cm’s of storm snow from past couple of days sliding on crust. Not what we were expecting. Didn’t seem like any wind effect. Storm snow was not consolidated in hand shear test. Expected sluffing, but not slab. We turned tail and stuck to mellower angled terrain which was fine skiing. N 49.449037° W 117.135477°Did not feel like a mod/mod/low hazard day.
