Comments
Wind was increasing the avalanche hazard today in the Crowsnest Pass. On our approach we could see strong south west wind was causing blowing snow to load lee features in alpine bowls and we could see some recent natural activity. This verified that our trip plan to stay out of wind loaded terrain with sleds and skis today was a good one. When we arrived at our transition spot we saw there had also been a sled triggered avalanche this morning in a fan feature under a steep headwall.
