Comments
Sr while on uptrack. No involvement. Several whumphs precluded the avalanche. Not an obviously windloaded area but a morrainal type feature. Suspect soft windslab over crust layer. We were able to trigger it where the snow depth on the crust was only about 20cms deep. The slope fractured about 30m above our position and ran to about 4m of the leader's uptrack position.
