Forecast for Today- 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT:

Widespread flurries or possible showers at lower elevations across the NW ranges today. Freezing levels near 1,500 metres for NW Smithers, and 1200 metres over the mountains nearer to the coast. Light precipitation amounts.

Rain or snow across the SW ranges. Freezing levels falling to 1500 metres over the Insular range. 

Freezing levels between 2000 and 2300 metres elsewhere across the SW ranges. Amount 15 to 25 mm over the South Coast and Sea to Sky ranges. Isolated pockets of 30+mm over the North Shore mountains.

Mainly sunny skies over the interior ranges with perhaps a bit more clouds for the North Rockies. Freezing levels peak above ridgetop for North Rockies and Cariboo and between 2700 and 3000m for the southern interior ranges. 

A frontal system moves away today and is followed by a cooler and weakly unstable southwesterly flow. Periods of snow will continue with the heaviest likely in the morning. 

Forecast for Tonight- 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. PDT:

More rain and snow tonight with freezing levels falling to 1200 to 1500 metres over SW ranges. Additional 10 to 20 mm possible.

Flurries becoming intermittent over NW ranges. No significant precipitation.

Increasing cloudiness with showers or flurries pushing into the interior before morning. Freezing levels dropping to 1500 to 2000 metres overnight.

Flurries continue through the night. Snowfall amount 2 cm. Alpine low -5C.  

Forecast for Monday- 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT:

Widespread flurries with freezing levels near 1200 metres across all coastal ranges under a cool and unstable airmass. 

Flurries and snow pellets for the SW ranges.

Rain showers and ridgetop flurries moving into the interior ranges through the day.

Slight risk of thunderstorms over the North Rockies, Cariboos and Monashees as the unstable airlass tracks east. Freezing levels 1500 to 2000 metres on Monday during the day, then falling Monday evening.

The upper-level low complex over the Gulf of Alaska continues to bring a southerly flow with flurries. 

Coastal ranges remain under the influence of a cool and unstable airmass with continued southerly onshore flow on Tuesday, with flurries and pellets over the SW ranges. Freezing levels remain near 1200 metres. 

Risk of thunderstorms for SW ranges Tuesday afternoon.

Flurries clearing over SW ranges by Wednesday afternoon as a ridge begins to build in from the south, but will likely continue over NW ranges into Wednesday night.

Freezing levels will fall to 1,200 to 1,500 metres by Tuesday morning.

Flurries over the South Columbia and East Purcells early Tuesday morning. An upper trough swings through southern B.C. in the afternoon bringing another round of flurries and/or snow pellets to the southern interior ranges. Freezing levels climbing to near 1900 metres during the day on Tuesday.

Risk of thunderstorms for all interior ranges Tuesday afternoon.

Flurries continuing and mixing with showers during the day on Wednesday. Freezing levels1200-1500 metres in the morning, again reaching near 1900 metres in the afternoon.

The overall pattern remains little changed with the large upper low over southern Alaska. An upper trough arrives on Tuesday bringing some light to moderate snowfall and a few flurries will persist on Wednesday. Temperatures remain cool with highs near or just below zero and lows to about -8C.

Coastal Precipitation Moving Inland

A frontal system will bring rain and snow to the southwest ranges with moderate precipitation amounts today.

Rain showers and flurries moving into the interior ranges on Monday, with a risk of a thunderstorm over the North Rockies, Cariboos and Monashees.

Unstable conditions likely to bring flurries and snow pellets to the south coast on Monday.

Onshore flow will generate flurries for the South Klondike and all coastal ranges on Tuesday. An upper trough will bring flurries to the southern interior ranges late Tuesday.
