The Parade of Pacific Storms Continues
Today, an active cold front currently over the coast will bring moderate snow to the coastal ranges. The front will saunter across the province bringing moderate snow as well to all of the eastern ranges this afternoon. Snow levels will be near the surface. The front exits the province Monday morning leaving scattered flurries in its wake over the eastern ranges. A new frontal system will approach the coast Monday morning. Its associated warm front will cause snow levels to rise slightly over the South Coast ranges..... just below 1000 metres. Rain and snow is expected. The warm front will also produce moderate precipitation for the Coastal ranges. Flurries will continue over the western facing slopes of the eastern ranges under a westerly upslope flow.
Tuesday looks like the stormiest day of the week. The associated low will scoot across the southern interior along with its cold front. Snow levels will gradually drop back to near surface by the evening. A westerly flow develops. Precipitation rates will generally be moderate to heavy. A westerly flow develops so western facing slopes can expect heavier rates. Precipitation will gradually ease Wednesday as the low enters Alberta. An upper ridge develops over the Pacific Ocean producing a northwesterly flow over BC. The ridge shifts towards BC Thursday drying things out.
