Consistent 3-7cm/hour precipitation throughout entire day. Minimal to no wind felt or observed all day. We stayed around 2100 meters all day playing mini golf.
Pretty much any pocket that was steep and had potential to avalanche would 100% go with skier or sled traffic today. We stayed on small, cliff-y pillow-y terrain to keep our slough manageable, and minimize our time on planar slopes.
Slabs were very soft, strong skiers were able to easily ski through slough and pockets that slid upon landings, and small slabs had no effect on moving snowmobiles.
we witnessed multiple storm slabs propagating wide and letting loose naturally throughout the day. Didn’t see anything above size 2, although weren’t in terrain large enough to provide anything larger.
All avalanches were within the recent storm snow. Between 15-40 cm deep. Propagation, where possible, was impressive.
Heading to the resort tomorrow, any sort of exposure in the backcountry will be spooky the next day or two.
