Conditions d'avalanche

• Avalanches de plaque datant d'aujourd'hui ou d'hier.
• 30 cm + de neige fraîche ou transport important de neige par le vent ou pluie au cours des dernières 48 heures
• Whoumfs ou bruits sourds ou fissures qui se propagent.

Today we rode hunters range, visibility was low light to moderate snow throughout the day. The wind was coming from the west moving a fair bit of snow around. We came across a size 1 storm snow avalanche which appeared to be naturally triggered on a crossloaded NW aspect at 2000m elevation. It did not step down however it appears to be a slope that slides regularly with a large amount of old debris at the bottom. At 16:00 hours we remote triggered a size 1 avalanche on a steep convex roll at treeline on a NW facing aspect. It slid on a surface hoar/facet layer burried approx 80cm below the surface.

Riding conditions were exceptional with lots of fresh snow, we did our best to stick to low angle and tight treed slopes as the avalanche conditions seam to be very touchy.
