Blackcomb Chutes

Investigated a few classic Blackcomb chutes - currently backcountry as per boundary markers. Snow was wind effected above lines, small but strong cornices (we did a few tests and cut some out - nothing too notable here). On these tight steeps after 1-2 lines the Nov 15 mfcr becomes very exposed making it very slippery and committing. I’d suggest based on our day to avoid committing and consequence filled terrain like chutes - the snow that provides grip for us has probably been all scrapped off now and just a super slick ice layer hiding under the new 16cm of unconsolidated snow.
