Very windy morning with cold temps at ridge top. Drove to ~1350m and skinned from the car. Minimal coverage in the trees gave way to a decent enough snowpack for travel.

Climbed up onto the glacier to have a look at conditions and could see cracks filling in but still exposed. Measured 100cm to ice on glacier flats but found deep pockets and other areas scoured to ice.

Significant wind loading in the alpine. Remote triggered a small slab avalanche descending off the ridge crest on a east facing slope. Best skiing was below the ridge to treeline with less wind effect. Snow is cold all the way to the ground so hopefully we get some elephant snot before too long!
