Rethel couloir

La qualité du hors-piste était:

Excellente

Les conditions de neige étaient :

• Poudreuse
• Affectée par le vent

Nous avons parcouru:

• Pentes raides

Skied Rethel couloir or at least some of it. Noticed cornices starting to form at the top of the line, as we climbed up we saw some areas where the wind slab was present and more reactive. Though the conditions felt better the further we got into it.

Was difficult to gauge but the warming event from last week to around 1900 appears to have created an unsupportive layer, didn't have too much time to access but it doesn't seem too strong, with more snow this may become problematic in the future?

With the clear nights did notice surface hoar in the morning.

Ski out is still boney so don't go and bring your brand new setup.

Was under a time crunch with work in the evening so we didn't make a run for the top, otherwise we totally would've. Skiing conditions though were great. Lake still isn't frozen but its getting there.

In the shade the cold was apparent and felt like mid winter, however when in the sun the temps where manageable.
