Commentaires
We accessed Boulder via Kirkup. Staging is presently at the Kirkup turnoff, just before the gravel pit. The first 2 km was mostly gravel with intermittent snow patches. After that the trail was covered. We sledded and skied alpine and treeline slopes, sticking to northerly aspects to seek dry snow. There was 0 to 15 cm of soft snow above a rock-hard crust, likely from recent rain. There was some evidence of recent small loose wet avalanches, sometime in the past week. We avoided steep southerly slopes during the heat of the day, though it warmed up less than expected and kept the snow dry above 1900 m.
