Commentaires

Toured up to Nine Mile Mountain Friday & Saturday to watch the sunset but ended up with the most amazing cloud inversion! Snow line sits around 800m, below that was all ice & rocks with patches of hard snow.

We expected more warming throughout the day but the snow stayed hard and crusty both days. Zero wind on Friday & light winds starting Saturday around 2am on ridge tops, calm still in the meadow. The wind was surprisingly warm!

We did see a crown line across the valley from Nine Mile summit on the unnamed peak just below, but too far away to see if it was recent (see photo) - looked to be about Sz1 that slid on all N aspects. We ski cut a few small rolls but no results. Snow was very firm.

Ski out on the road was extra crusty & compact. Lots of SH formed overnight, especially present around & below the fog line at 700m. Very clear temp inversion!
