We stayed at Jumbo Pass hut for the last three nights. We accessed the hut from Toby Creek. On the day in (Tuesday) we had 15 cm of slightly wind affected storm snow which where sitting on a soft layer of stellar crystals. Putting in a track was hard due to the deep snow. We triggered a very small slab on a convex feature. On Wednesday we had another 10 cm of fresh snow with calm winds and flat light. We skied mellow terrain and dense trees. On Thursday the visibility got better (all pictures of that day). We skied mellow trees, and slowly stepped out into more open terrain. We saw a size 2 slab avalanche underneath the col of Bastille mountain on a northwest facing slope and two size 1 avalanches triggered by cornices on steep west facing slopes. Today (Friday) we left the hut one day earlier due to the forecast storm. This morning we had approx. 25 cm fresh snow which fell with light to moderate wind. It was snowing about 2 cm per hour when we left the hut.
Snow depth was between 140 - 190 cm at the elevation of the hut (2345 m). Our snow pack tests on Wednesday and Thursday did not show any propagation.
