Commentaires
A final trip to Mt Cokely before the deluge and we found conditions already in pretty bad shape. Actively raining at 1450 m with 10-15 cm of rain wetted, crust topped snow on the surface, sitting on another deteriorating crust. Below this, the faceted snow we observed on our last visit was still loose and lacking cohesion, but this time due to being completely saturated with water, along with the crust below it.
All of the steep terrain we encountered had signs of wet loose avalanches and pinwheels on or below it. Hope there's still a snowpack here after the storm!
