Commentaires
We had just started uptracking from the cabin when I noticed a stress crack at the base of a 50ft hill side we would be following to get into the full alpine. As I examined the crack the hill gave way. I did not even see it coming. I was fully buried except one hand and my face. Took my partner 10 mins to dig me out. We noticed the day before a week layer about 4 to 5 in deep. I assume it was that layer that gave way with another foot of snow on top. The fracture line above ran for several hundred feet. Later in the day we found that the slope we had skied on Friday had self triggered and slid.
