Commentaires
The surface was FIRM up on Frisby today, with the solid overnight refreeze we were not too concerned about avalanche hazard, but consequently the riding wasn't very good either. No new avalanche activity observed today.
We did a bit of digging and found the Mar 2 SH down 35 cm. We were able to initiate failures in this interface with hard loads in our test profile, but the failures were resistant/stubborn. The Feb 2 crust was found down 120 cm, but no test results on this deeper interface. There is a lot of strong snow between these two layers and the snowpack feels pretty well consolidated, so long as it's frozen. Once it starts to heat up in the afternoon, it may become a different story, especially on steep south and west facing aspects.
